Logistics: handling an operation that involves providing labor and materials be supplied as needed.
Logistics, though hidden from the public eye, is a very important part of Nineveh Outreach, for without it, no one would receive groceries in the parks. Logistics volunteers meet on Friday evenings to fill approximately 900 bags of groceries each week. This job includes lifting boxes, moving pallets, and stuffing grocery bags with groceries for the clients. Once the bags are filled, they are loaded into the Nineveh trucks to be distributed the following day.
- Wednesday food purchases are made and housed - hours and days vary.
- Friday from 3:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M. pallets of food and hundreds of bags of groceries are sorted, packed and loaded onto trucks.
- Saturday the bread is picked up from the donors and distributed at our city parks.
- Truck drivers are needed daily for the food donation pick-up - hours and days vary.
